*** Cottingham Playsport Pavilion Outdoor Areas now re-open for limited use ***
Since the unfortunate closure of Cottingham Playsport Pavilion due to fire, we have been working hard to try to reinstate some of the facilities available
The Astro Turf and Tennis Courts have been re-opened for Football/Rugby training on a Monday - Thursday 6.00pm - 9.30pm. Most of the time slots have already been booked but there is limited availability on a Monday and Tuesday 6pm - 9pm on the Tennis Courts. Friends of King George V
The Friends of King George V Playing Fields was formed in September 2005 following extensive refurbishment of the children's play park, car park and the installation of an all weather surface and paths on the part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The aim of the group was to access funding not available to the Council to further enhance facilities and to extend the use of the Playing Fields by the whole community of Cottingham.
In October 2005 the group was formerly constituted, electing a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and a whole new era for the Playing Fields was born!
The group are also putting on a family event each month to promote their aims as well as raising funds to update the Playing Fields further. Last year funds raised helped to pay for the picnic benches and seating in the childrens' play park and the surrounding woodland, as well as putting on a children's Christmas Party.
We meet once a month in an informal setting to discuss ideas and ways forward for the Playing Fields, so if you want to take part then please contact Gary Cooper (Vice-Chair) on 875324 or Jan Rodgers (Secretary) on 844914.
